5 reasons to take your holiday photos early at a studio space

The temperature is turning cooler, Starbucks is serving up pumpkin spice lattes, and football season is here. Even if it doesn’t feel like it outside, fall has arrived! Before you know it, you’ll be picking out Halloween costumes and wrapping Christmas presents. Because the fall season goes so fast, I have 5 reasons to consider taking your holiday photos sooner rather than later this year.

1. Move your timeline up and get your holiday cards done sooner.

Picture it: you take photos September 30 or October 9. The session is indoors at a beautiful studio, so the weather outside makes no difference at all. You receive your fabulous gallery a week or two later, and order your holiday card. You choose the cheapest shipping option, because they don't need to get to you quickly. It's still October. Your cards arrive, and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. You can take your time addressing them, and then you mail them the day after Thanksgiving. You check it off your list, and enjoy having one giant task accomplished before December even arrives. Good job, you!

2. Print and frame your photos as holiday gifts.

Do you know what Grandma always loves? Photos of her grandchildren. When you receive your gallery of images back, you will have plenty of time to order high quality prints, framed prints, or canvases, with time to spare for the least expensive shipping option. No need to panic at the last minute, or order the cheapy 24 hour lab prints, or pay for expedited shipping. When you receive your gallery in early October, you can simply place an order for your family members, and then check it off of your list. A few more tasks accomplished before the holiday season really even starts. You are on a roll!

Bonus: did you know that I offer product and print services straight from your gallery on my Pixieset website? You can simply select the photos from your gallery you'd like to print, and select products in the store. The labs that Pixieset uses are the highest quality, and anything you receive from them will be absolutely beautiful. Definitely worthy of a gift for Grandma.

3. One less thing to try and squeeze into the busy holiday season.

Every year I resolve to "not be so busy during the holidays," and Every. Single. Year, Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays are quickly claimed by parties, family events, get togethers with friends, school commitments, and a million other things I forgot about. Do your future stressed-out self a favor, and get your holiday photos taking care of as soon as possible. You won't have to try to fit it in later, when the calendar is full.

4. Pets are welcome!

Artist Uprising and Lumen Room Plano both allow animals inside the studio. This means you can bring along your 4-legged family members to be included in your portraits. We might even have time to grab a pet portrait!

5. Studio sessions look the same no matter the season or weather.

My September 30 and October 9 mini sessions are both indoors, in beautiful studio spaces. It might be raining, snowing, freezing, or 100⁰ outside, but inside, it's going to look and feel exactly the same no matter what. You can wear spring colors and linen, Christmas colors and velvet, heavy boots, no shoes.... It will all look great in the simple studio space. We can't get rained out, there are no mosquitoes, and your kids can run around. It's the perfect situation!

Looking forward to seeing you and your family this fall!

Remember, now is always a great time to take photos because now is beautiful.
